Friends To Visit

For those in the Appaloosa world looking to strengthen friendships and support one another, visiting local farms can be an incredible way to connect. There are some fantastic farms known for their commitment to the Appaloosa breed, where you can meet fellow enthusiasts, share stories, and even spend quality time with the horses. Consider planning a visit to farms that host events or clinics, allowing you and your friends to learn more about breed care and training techniques. Plus, exploring picturesque landscapes while bonding over your shared passion can make for unforgettable memories. These farms not only offer a look into the life of Appaloosas but also create an inviting community atmosphere for friends to enjoy together.

Gust Performance Horses

Raising all around Appaloosa with Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle pedigrees.

Pinewood Stables

Pinewood is located along the bluffs of the Missouri River near Bismarck, North Dakota. From here, we overlook the historic stretch of the river where Lewis & Clark wintered on their epic journey. It’s fitting then that our breed of choice is the Appaloosa, the horse that carried the Corps of Discovery over the mountains on their way to the west coast.

We specialize in dual-purpose horses equally comfortable on a rugged Badlands trail or in the show ring. Please enjoy your stay.

Rocky Top Appaloosas

Rocky Top Appaloosas is owned and operated by Bill & Jeanette Cook of New Salem, North Dakota. With over 30 years in the horse breeding and showing business.

Our horses are also content to transition outdoors to the trails making dependable family horses for years of enjoyment outside the show pen. We have returned to the enjoyment of trail riding in the Badlands, Black Hills, and riding with the local teamsters on Wagon Trains.
